
Who is perris jones?
Jones graduated from Episcopal High School in 2018 with a dream to play collegiate football. Being only 5'7 and 160lbs Jones wasn't offered to play at any schools. In 2018, Perris walked on to the UVA football team with a goal to earn playing time. His relentless work ethic earned him a scholarship in 2021, which led him to become a starting running back for the Hoos in Fall of 2022. This lead him to have another year to prepare for the NFL draft.

On November 9th 2023 Jones was injured in the third quarter of UVA's game against Louisville which has changed his life trajectory forever. As he laid motionless on the field training staff members from both sides of the field came to his aid. He later underwent spinal surgery at UofL Hospital followed by physical and occupational therapy at Fraizer Rehabilitation Institute.
On November 28th 2023 Jones was released from the hospital back to the University of Virginia where he continued physical and occupational therapy to regain movement in his arms all while navigating the emotional tole of having to retire from playing football due to the injury sustained
